Join the Charity Chili Cook-Off!

Think you’ve got the best chili recipe in town? Now’s your chance to prove it! We’re inviting local businesses, groups, and individuals to showcase their culinary skills in the Charity Chili Cook-Off—all while helping raise funds for Chemainus Harvest House.

The community will taste, vote, and crown the Chili Champion—so bring your boldest flavors and fiercest competition. Whether you're crafting a classic, spicy, or unique recipe, it’s time to turn up the heat and compete for the top spot!
 

Event Details

• How Much to Make?
  One large crockpot of chili is usually enough, but if you're feeling confident (and hungry), bring two! We’ll keep everything fresh in a walk-in refrigerator, but your chili must be prepared in a commercial kitchen.
   

• No Kitchen? No Problem!
  If you don’t have access to a commercial kitchen, join us for a special evening at a local kitchen where you can cook alongside fellow contestants.
   

Serving Your Chili

Set up your station with your crockpot or hotplate to keep things warm, and don’t forget to label any special details—whether your chili is meat, vegetarian, or vegan, and any potential allergens. We’ll provide you with a number for easy identification.​

How It Works:

We will be operating on a token system:

• Taster (3-4 oz) = 1 token which is $2

• Bowl (10-12 oz) = 3 tokens which is $6

We’ll take care of the tokens and handle all payments—all you need to do is make sure your guests drop in the right number of tokens for their chili portions.

We’ve got you covered with bowls, tasters, spoons, and napkins—just focus on bringing your best chili!
